Well they always bring Richard and Judy back for anniversary editions of This Morning, and Countdown isn't any old tv show, it's an institution and i don't see anything wrong with acknowledging the past in moments of celebration. Shows move on from their presenters, I imagine most people now associate Rachel with Countdown than Carol. I find it sad she has just been airbrushed out of history. Whilst i agree things move on, it would be nice to at least acknowledge all the history she has with the show and have her do the letters during the 40th anniversary or even as a guest in Dictionary Corner. The show has done fine without her and it hasn't needed her since the day she left. Oh my, I'd honestly hate for Carol to come back. Oddly Carol is now the same age Richard was when he died (61) That and putting it back in it's old 3:10pm timeslot ratings would go up tenfold. Are the Channel 4 execs involved in Carol's departure still there? If not i'd do everything i could to get her back on the show as host, which would bring back alot of old viewers. I know it's Channel 4 who decides on who presents and not the producers of Countdown itself, hence why we got Anne Robinson.
